| <<<<<You have given our children an invaluable gift.>>>>> Rachel, Hamilton Shelter Programs Coord Simple Gifts was founded in 2001 by a new mother in San Francisco with the purpose of providing birthday gifts to children living in poverty. The gifts give the children a sense of being remembered and cared about in a sometimes overwhelmingly alienating environment. <<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>> How it works: With six volunteers wrapping gifts each month, Simple Gifts serves five family shelters. Gifts are donated by individuals and organizations.
